Junior Fa (* 19th October 1989 in Papakura District , New Zealand , as Uaine Fa Jr ) is a New Zealand boxer in the heavyweight and current unbeaten WBO -Oriental- interim champion .
Amateur career
Among the amateurs, Fa competed for Tonga and took part in the 2010 Commonwealth Games in Delhi , India , where he won a bronze medal . He met Joseph Parker twice and won both fights unanimously on points.
Professional career
Fa made his professional debut with a classic knockout win over compatriot Richard Tutaki on February 13, 2016 at the Barfoot & Thompson Stadium in Auckland .
In 2017 Fa competed against Daniel Tai for the vacant New Zealand championship and won by majority decision. The following year he met the Mexican Luis Pascual. This fight was about the WBO Oriental interim title. Fa won on points over 10 rounds and defended that title against the Argentine Rogelio Omar Rossi with a spectacular knockout in round 1.
