Jupiter Jones is a music album by the band of the same name Jupiter Jones .

Jupiter Jones was released on February 25, 2011 on the record label Columbia Records and is assigned to the genre punk rock and indie rock . The album was produced by Wolfgang Stach and mixed by Michael Ilbert . The song Still became the most played German-language song on German radio in April 2011.

Origin and topic

The album title came about because the band members favored different titles and finally agreed on the band name as a compromise solution. In addition, Columbia supported the band, so that a popular album title was sought.

Since the band members live further apart, in the Eifel, Hamburg, Marburg and Münster, "everyone in his own private room" created the songs, "roughly programmed" them and then sent them to the other band members so that they could continue working on them. The band members then assemble "in block rehearsals of two or three weeks and arrange it together."

The song "Still" was the first to be written and is described by the singer Nicholas Müller as "the most poppy song on the record", it is "of all the songs that" they have "written so far ... most likely a single."

The main theme of the title on the album is "sheer survival", and there are also "heartbreak issues" and "on the edge it gets political". The title selection is intended to portray human life as often “exhausting” and “corrosive”, but show that there is “always a reason to keep going”.

style

The singer Nicholas Müller said in an interview in the magazine Melodie und Rhythmus that the "mass suitability of the record happened unconsciously". The group found a "good balance between courtesy and the impetuosity that we wanted to maintain." The band changed their style and "wandered in the direction of pop music".

Songs

Just don't come to Bad Bentheim is about an "old, bitter man in the pub" and Berlin portrays the capital as a "symbol of coercion".
