Wolfgang Stach

Wolfgang "Stackman" Stach (born May 25, 1960 in Ammern) is a German music producer and publisher based in Cologne.

Life

Stach was in a recording studio for the first time when he recorded demos in 1983 with his band at the Heart Beat Studio (Cologne) in Cologne. This was followed by an internship and assistance with the then operator of the studio, Paul Grau. At the same time, he completed a degree in mechanical engineering at the Cologne University of Applied Sciences, but continued to pursue the desire to work professionally in the studio. A year later my first jobs followed as a freelance sound engineer and producer. After making a name for himself as a metal producer in the mid-90s, he attracted attention with his crossover and rock productions with Channel Zero , Guano Apes, Such a Surge and Emil Bulls .

At the same time, Stach took part in the “A-Jugend” youth development project run by Universal Music . After ten years of freelance work as a mixer, producer and engineer, he worked permanently at Heart Beat Studio in 2001/02. This was followed by a year at One and One Studio (Cologne) before he moved to maarwegstudio2 in 2004, where he has since produced and built acts such as Karpatenhund , Bosse or The Life Between , but also does commissioned productions.

From 2005 to 2014 Stach worked continuously with BAP , he produced three studio albums and two live albums with the Cologne band and in 2012 the single All the Moments , together with Clueso . A long-term collaboration connects him with Jupiter Jones ; he produced three studio albums with the band, of which the 2011 released Jupiter Jones was awarded gold. The single "Still" achieved platinum status and received the echo for the most played German-language radio hit. Stach has been working regularly with Dominic Miller ( Sting guitarist ) on his solo projects since 2012 . Productions with Akua Naru or Nico Suave show that Stach feels comfortable in a wide variety of genres.
