Johann "Hans" Anton Schröpf (born May 15, 1938 in Weiden ; † November 21, 2012 there ) was a German politician ( CSU ). From 1976 to 2007 he was Lord Mayor of the city ​​of Weiden .

Life

Cupping moved into the Weiden city council in 1966. On May 30, 1976, he was elected Lord Mayor. He was re-elected five times and held that office for 31 years. In 2007 he resigned - after he was twice convicted of embezzlement and tax evasion - at the request of his party and for health reasons. During his tenure, the so-called New Town Hall, the Weiden ice stadium, the Max-Reger-Halle , the thermal baths and the university of applied sciences were built. Also the sponsorship of the city for the Boeing 737-300 "Weiden id Opf." Of Lufthansa and for the mine-hunting boat Weiden (M 1060) was taken over.

Schröpf was married to Ingeborg "Inge" Emma Schröpf, who was charged with him in 2005 for embezzling raffle prizes and tax evasion. His daughter Christine Schröpf is the leader of the CSU parliamentary group in Weiden.

Hans Schröpf died in his apartment at the age of 74. The funeral service was held in the parish church of St. Joseph . His body was buried in the city cemetery.
