Philipp Karl

Philipp Karl (born May 8, 1884 in Kemnath ; † October 11, 1958 in Weiden idOPf. ) Was a German local politician ( CSU ). From May 28, 1951 to April 30, 1952, he was Lord Mayor of Weiden idOPf.

Career

Karl came as the son of the Bader Georg Karl and his wife Mathilde, geb. Arlitt, to the world. He was a master tailor and founder of the Weiden tailors' guild. In 1919 he was elected to the Weiden city council, in 1920 he was elected to the commercial council. When the National Socialists came to power in 1933, he was forcibly removed as a city councilor. After the end of the war he joined the CSU and was again a member of the city council from July 1, 1948 to April 30, 1956. After the death of the incumbent Karl Heilmann , he was appointed Lord Mayor of the city of Weiden idOPf by the city council. elected and remained in office until the first direct election in 1952.

In 1945, he took over the post of master craftsman in the professional bodies. From 1946 he was President of the Regensburg Chamber of Crafts .
