In the Spessart , in the Kahlgrund and on the Main , almost every place has a nickname , Utz - Uzname, nickname, Ortsneckname . It can usually be traced back to a typical local activity, for which there is also a special expression in the dialect .

purpose

Ortneck names are not inventions of their own, but were basically "attached" to you by envious, nasty neighbors . They were used earlier to characterize the residents and especially to mock the young men. Most often, certain actions are named, which are usually "offensive" or "nonsensical". Animals are often namesake, manual activities can be found as well as human body parts or diseases and physical ailments.
