In the north and west, Grünmorsbach borders on the district of Haibach, in the east on Straßbessenbach and in the south on Dörrmorsbach . The topographically highest point of the village mark is at the summit of the Kaiselsberg, southeast of the place at 366  m above sea level. history

The place is first mentioned in a will of vicar Heinrich Schwab in which on November 18, 1339 the income of a Konrad Schilling from Grünmorsbach is mentioned. In another document dated May 28, 1348, a Heinrich Ruschebusch awarded his estate in Grünmorsbach to the Schmerlenbach monastery .

At the time of the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt Grünmorsbach was in the area of ​​the Districtsmairie Schweinheim (the former Kurmainzischen Amtsvogtei Schweinheim) in the department of Aschaffenburg and counted 164 inhabitants (souls) with 33 fireplaces. Maire, Landzöller and Accisor was Andreas Wolf; his adjunct was called Michael Hessler.

As a result of the Paris treaty of June 3, 1814, Grünmorsbach came to the Kingdom of Bavaria on June 26, 1814 with the Districtsmairie Schweinheim and was assigned to the administrative area of ​​the Aschaffenburg second-class regional court by order of October 1, 1814.

On July 1, 1862, the district office of Aschaffenburg was formed, on whose administrative area Grünmorsbach was located. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Grünmorsbach was now one of the 33 communities in the old district of Aschaffenburg . On July 1, 1972, this merged with the Alzenau district in Lower Franconia to form the new Aschaffenburg district.

The municipality was incorporated into Haibach on July 1, 1972.
