The state road 2312 (abbreviation: St 2312) is a 41 km long main road in the districts of Aschaffenburg and Main-Spessart in Lower Franconia , of Aschaffenburg to Marktheidenfeld leads. Since 2007 it has formed the stepped down part of the federal road 8 that runs through the Spessart .

course

It begins in Aschaffenburg on the B 8 / B 26 , then continues on Platanenallee , Hofgartenstraße and Würzburger Straße to Haibach . From there, the St 2312 touches the villages of Grünmorsbach , Straßbessenbach , Oberbessenbach and Hessenthal . There it crosses the St 2308 and crosses the upper Elsava .

The further course of the state road 2312 leads through the Hochspessart over the Echterspfahl to Rohrbrunn . It is located at the rest area Spessart the junction 64 Rohrbrunn to Bundesautobahn 3 . In Rohrbrunn the state roads 2316 and 2317 are fed to the St 2312.

The St 2312 then crosses the A 3, with the new construction route being crossed on the mono-arch bridge built in 2016-17 , and shortly thereafter passes the summit of the Geiersberg (586 m), the highest mountain in the Spessart , a little south . Then it goes past the Torhaus Aurora , which is in the middle of a 2.4 km long dead straight road section. Above Straßlücke ( Bischbrunn ) the road finally leaves the closed forest and offers a distant view to the east. It goes downhill through Esselbach to Marktheidenfeld, where the road ends near the town of Glasofen at the new course of the B8.

After the renovation of the Main Bridge in Marktheidenfeld, the graduation of the B 8 and thus the extension of the St 2312 from the AS Marktheidenfeld to the B 27 Höchberg is planned. The section B 486 to B 27 Höchberg has already been graded.

history

The street section from Aschaffenburg to Marktheidenfeld was once part of a historic main street . This road leading from Frankfurt to Würzburg was already mentioned in 839 as "heristrata" (Heerstraße). Later it was the post route from Brussels to Prague . It was graveled as a road around 1770 based on the French model and expanded as a paved federal road 8 in the 20th century.

The reason for the downgrading of federal road 8 to state road 2312 in 2007 is, among other things, that the B 8 is largely parallel to the A 3 .
