Oberbessenbach is a district of the municipality Bessenbach in the district of Aschaffenburg in Bavaria . It has 1615 inhabitants (as of December 2010) .

Oberbessenbach is located on State Road 2312 (formerly Bundesstraße 8 ) between Mespelbrunn and Straßbessenbach . The district is located at 206  m above sea level. NN am Bessenbach . The topographically highest point of the village mark is the summit of the Pfaffenberg , southeast of the village at 432  m above sea level. NN , the lowest is on the Bessenbach at 187  m above sea level. NN .

history

On July 1, 1862, the district office of Aschaffenburg was formed, on whose administrative territory Oberbessenbach lay. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Oberbessenbach was now one of the 33 communities in the old district of Aschaffenburg . On July 1, 1972, this merged with the Alzenau district in Lower Franconia to form the new Aschaffenburg district.

Since January 1st, 1978 Oberbessenbach belongs to the municipality of Bessenbach.
