At the time of the Grand Duchy of Frankfurt, Keilberg was in the area of the Districtsmairie Schweinheim (the former Kurmainzischen Amtsvogtei Schweinheim) in the department of Aschaffenburg and counted with the villages of Unterbessenbach and Steiger as well as the Hof Frauengrund with 87 fire places 458 inhabitants (souls). Maire and Landzöller was Leonhard Hock; his adjuncts were called Johann Hock and Michael Stegmann. Valentin Braun was the pastor; The chaplain was called Johann Georg Hanzelmann. GA Amrhein was the school teacher.

Today the Mairie Weiler with Waldmichelbach, which was still independent in 1812 and which at that time was located in the administrative area of the Krombach district mairie with its 20 campfire sites and 166 inhabitants, belongs to the Keilberg district of the Bessenbach community. Johann Stegmann was adjunct there in 1812. The Mair's position was not occupied.

As a result of the Paris Treaty of June 3, 1814, Keilberg and Weiler came to the Kingdom of Bavaria on June 26, 1814 with their district mairies Schweinheim and Krombach, respectively. With an order of October 1, 1814, Keilberg was assigned to the administrative area of the district court second class Aschaffenburg, which had arisen from the Districtsmairie Schweinheim, and the Graeflich Schönbornische Weiler with Waldmichelbach as its own office was assigned to the District Court Krombach, which emerged from the Districtsmairie Krombach, which in 1816 became a lordship court and in 1820 a Patrimonial court, which existed until 1848.

On July 1, 1862, the district office of Aschaffenburg was formed, on whose administrative territory Keilberg was located. In 1939, as everywhere in the German Reich, the designation district was introduced. Keilberg was now one of the 33 communities in the old district of Aschaffenburg . On July 1, 1972, this merged with the Alzenau district in Lower Franconia to form the new Aschaffenburg district.
