In Spessart and Maintal almost every place has a nickname , Utz, Uznamen, nicknames, Ortsnecknamen . It can usually be traced back to a typical local activity, for which there is also a special expression in the dialect .

purpose

Ortneck names are not inventions of their own, but were given by neighbors. They were used in the past to characterize the residents, to mock the young men, today clubs and especially carnival societies are named after them. It is also a kind of custom that some expressions, even if they are strong and hearty, are retained in the future and are not lost.
