The Ville de Bordeaux is a RoRo ship sailing under the French flag .

history

The cargo ship, named after the French city of Bordeaux , was built for around 30 million US dollars at the Jinling shipyard in China . The ship was christened on February 27, 2004 . Godmother was the wife of the French minister Dominique Bussereau . The ship was delivered on March 30, 2004. The ship's home port is Bordeaux.

The owner company Seaplane One is a joint venture between the Norwegian shipping group Leif Höegh and Fret Sa, which belongs to the French company Louis Dreyfus Armateurs. Louis Dreyfus Armateurs is responsible for managing the ship.

The ship, which is chartered to Airbus , is used to transport aircraft components of the Airbus A380 between the various production sites, such as B. the factory premises of Airbus in Hamburg-Finkenwerder .

Since November 2016, the Ville de Bordeaux has also been shipping Scania trucks, which are produced in the company's French assembly plant in Angers, from the port of Saint-Nazaire to the Maghreb countries. Around 300 to 400 trucks per year are planned.
