Yuri Viktorovich Bereschko ( Russian : Юрий Викторович Бережко; English transcription: Yury Viktorovich Berezhko; born January 27, 1984 in Komsomolsk-on-Amur , Soviet Union ) is a Russian volleyball player .

Career

Bereschko began his career in 2000 with Neftjanik Yaroslavl . In 2004 he moved to the Russian first division club VK Dynamo Moscow . On June 25, 2005, the attacker made his debut in the national team , with which he won the Europa League a little later . In 2006 he won the national championship and cup double with Moscow. The following year the club was runner-up. With the national team in 2007 Bereschko reached second places in the world league and in the World Cup . At the European Championship, Russia was also only defeated in the final against Spain ; Bereschko received an award for the best attacker. In 2008 Moscow made the second double in the league. Then Bereschko took part in the Olympic tournament in Beijing and won the bronze medal. In 2010 he reached the final of the Champions League , which Moscow lost to Trentino Volley . At the Olympic Games in London , he won the gold medal. In 2013 Bereschko moved to VK Dynamo Krasnodar and in 2014 again to VK Dynamo Moscow , where he won the CEV Cup in 2015 .
