Lithuanian Lawyers Association
The Lithuanian Lawyers Association ( Lithuanian Lietuvos teisininkų draugija ) is an association based in Vilnius , whose over 1,000 members are lawyers in Lithuania . The association has certain rights provided by Lithuanian law. He proposes three members of the National Supreme Electoral Commission of Lithuania (VRK), the candidates for the members of the lower-level election commissions, two candidates for the Ethics Committee of the Civil Service of Lithuania and the Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission. The company is the partner of the Foundation for the Support of the Press, Radio and Television and a shareholder (founder) of the Vilnius Commercial Arbitration Court .
The association was founded on January 14, 1920.
In 1996, the association founded the Justitia publishing house to publish the legal journal Justitia (since 2003 with the supplement “ Teisės žinios ”).
Its goals include legislative proposals to strengthen the democratic government and the support of young lawyers as well as their qualified training. The association also strives to strengthen communication between science and practice.
