Justus Clauswitz

Justus Clauswitz (born December 12, 1809 in Goslar ; † February 20, 1901 in Berlin ) was a lawyer and member of the German Reichstag .

Clauswitz was the father of the Berlin city archivist Paul Clauswitz .

Life

Clauswitz attended high school in Salzwedel and studied in Berlin law . In 1831 he became a trainee lawyer at the Higher Regional Court and the Higher Regional Court in Naumburg . In 1835 he was appointed court assessor and in 1836 went to the Wolmirstedt district and city court , where he was appointed judicial councilor in 1842. In 1847 he moved to the Liebenwerda City Court , where he was appointed director in 1850. In 1857 he became director of the Torgau district court and in 1864 he was appointed senior tribunal councilor. From 1870 to 1879 he was a member of the Disciplinary Court for non-judicial officials and in 1877/78 Vice President of the High Tribunal and Real Secret Higher Justice Council.

From 1877 to 1883 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the German Reich Party and the constituency of Merseburg 1 (Liebenwerda, Torgau), and from 1850 to 1852 and from 1872 to 1877, and from 1879 to 1885 a member of the Prussian House of Representatives .
