Justus du Vignau

Justus Wilhelm du Vignau - since 1860 by Vignau - (* 30th June 1793 in Magdeburg , † 13. September 1866 in Erfurt ) was a Prussian administrative lawyer , last secret upper government and served as District President of the administrative district of Erfurt .

Life

origin

His parents were the councilor of Magdeburg Christian Friedrich Wilhelm du Vignau († May 14, 1844) and his wife Marie Luise Wilhelmine Goßler († December 22, 1847).

Career

Vignau started his professional career in 1809 in the Royal Westphalian Ministry of Finance as an expeditionary secretary. In November 1813 he became office manager at the Prussian tax office in Paderborn. In 1816 he worked as a government assessor in Minden . Further positions in various governments followed: 1819 Government Council, 1822 in Frankfurt / Oder, 1826 Upper Government Council in Liegnitz , 1827 President of the Ministerial, Military and Building Commission in Berlin, 1834 Secret Government Council with the rank of third-class councilors, 1836 Government Vice-President in Münster ( 1836–1845) and finally from 1845 until his death in 1866, district president in Erfurt.

On July 2, 1860, Friedrich Wilhelm IV raised him to the nobility under the name of Vignau on the occasion of his 50th anniversary in service . He was awarded the Red Eagle Order 2nd Class with Oak Leaves.

From 1850 to 1852 he was a member of the First Prussian Chamber . From 1852 to 1862 he was a member of the Second Prussian Chamber and the Prussian House of Representatives . In 1850 he belonged to the Volkshaus of the Erfurt Union Parliament .

family

He married Auguste Pappritz on September 7, 1823 in Frankfurt an der Oder (March 8, 1805 - May 23, 1877). The couple had several children:

  • Viktor Emanuel (born January 9, 1841 - March 31, 1865)
  • Georg Wilhelm Hippolyt (born January 2, 1843 - January 21, 1926), musician, theater director of the Grand Ducal Court Theater in Weimar ⚭ 1868 Susanne Margarete Mandel (born March 25, 1848)
