Justus von Geusau

Justus von Geusau (born January 20, 1700 ; † July 17, 1770 in Ottenhausen ) was an imperial general , head hunter master of Baden and manor owner from the Electorate of Saxony . He was the founder of his family's Baden line.

Life

He came from the Thuringian noble family von Geusau and was the son of the heir and court lord Justus von Geusau (1662–1701), who was born in Farnstädt and died in Heygendorf , and his second wife Maria Sabina nee. from Witzleben . At first he was Oberjägermeister in Baden-Durlach, before he was promoted to Major General in Swabia . On January 9, 1746, he was promoted to Sergeant General .

At an advanced age he retired to Thuringia, where he owned shares in the two manors Oberfarnstädt and Ottenhausen .

He was married to Maria Dorothea nee von Schütz († January 2, 1788 in Karlsruhe). The Baden general Carl von Geusau was his only son. Its first godfather and namesake was the administrator Karl August von Baden-Durlach . In addition, Justus von Geusau had several daughters. Among them was Friederike Eleonore Ernestine von Geusau, who was born on March 23, 1747 in Karlsruhe and on April 27, 1776 married the government councilor and Professor Johann August Schlettwein in Ettlingen , who owned the estates of Beseritz and Dahlen. She died in the latter place on August 23, 1802. His eldest daughter, however, Wilhelmina Carolina von Geusa, born on March 16, 1740, married the later Baden-Durlach Oberhof Marshal Carl Friedrich von Validlingen (* 1733).
