Juwelo (until October 31, 2013: Juwelo TV ) is a Berlin- based teleshopping broadcaster that broadcasts 18 hours a day digitally via Astra and in the cable networks of 15 federal states . All kinds of jewelery are offered. The operator is Juwelo TV Deutschland GmbH , which sells in Great Britain according to the same principle as Gems TV . From October 1, 2012 to December 18, 2012, Gems TV broadcast again in Germany, competing with Juwelo.
history
The Juwelo program was originally broadcast for the first time in 2005 by a wholly-owned subsidiary of what was then K1010 Entertainment GmbH under the namehabenbox . After a test phase with program windows in the K1010, bidbox soon became its own channel. At that time, all kinds of consumer goods were sold that were difficult to sell through traditional retailers . Even then, the principle of the auction with falling prices was used.
When the collapse of the parent company K1010 became foreseeable in mid-2006, they entered into a cooperation with Gems TV in Great Britain and switched the product portfolio to jewelry. On October 1, 2006, the station was renamed Gems TV . The parent company K1010 was renamed Gems TV Deutschland GmbH. Gems TV Deutschland could therefore in fact be seen as the joint successor to the broadcaster bidbox and the K1010, which has since been discontinued.
After the withdrawal of Gems TV from the German market was announced in May 2008, Juwelo TV Deutschland GmbH took over the programming of Gems TV on June 1, 2008. This is the renamed KIWOSA GmbH |, main shareholder of Gems TV.
Since April 26, 2012, the station has been free to receive as a simultaneous HD version via 19.2 ° East.
On November 1, 2013, the station introduced a new on- & off-air design, a new name and a new logo for its two stations (SD & HD version). A new website went online at the same time.
Sales principle
The products can only be purchased while they are being presented by the moderator. At the same time, the number of products still available is counted down. This approach is often criticized because the customer is suggested an artificial supply shortage. This principle is also practiced by 1-2-3.tv , among others , and distinguishes these channels from other teleshopping programs such as HSE24 or QVC , where the products presented can generally also be bought after the presentation.
The principle is similar to a descending auction with falling prices. For legal reasons, however, the correct name is “purchase against bid”, as is the case with all teleshopping channels, since auctions or auctions are not permitted on German television.
