The Carinthian rock flower ( Draba siliquosa ) is a representative of the rock flower ( Draba ) that is widespread from the Pyrenees to the Elburs Mountains .

features

The Carinthian rock flower is a perennial , herbaceous plant . It reaches heights of growth of 5 to 15 cm. The plant is bald or hairy. The stems are bare or covered with fork and star hairs at the base. In addition to the basal leaves, there are a maximum of three stem leaves. The base of the leaf margin is covered with simple hairs, towards the tip with star hairs. The basal leaves are bald or hairy, and usually have numerous star hairs, or simple or fork hairs.

Flowering time is June and July, pollination is carried out by insects or self-pollination .

The infructescence is elongated, not shortened into an umbellate. The fruit is a 4 to 10 mm long pod with sometimes over 10 seeds per compartment. The pods are bald or hairy. There is more eyelash and fork hair than star hair. The stylus is 0.1 to 0.7 mm long.

The species has chromosome number 2n = 16.

Occurrence

The Carinthian rock flower occurs from the Pyrenees to the Elburs . In the Alps it occurs in Styria, Carinthia, Salzburg, Tyrol, Vorarlberg, Liechtenstein, South Tyrol, Bavaria (only Allgäu) and Switzerland. It grows in the alpine elevation in base-rich, lime-rich to lime-poor rock crevices and rock debris, often in ridge locations. In the Allgäu it occurs at altitudes between 2160 and 2455 meters (at the summit of the Linkerskopf in Bavaria).

Phytosociological it is an association characteristic species of Elynion myosuroides .
