Käthe Kamossa

Käthe Kamossa (born December 15, 1911 in Berlin ; † July 8, 1989 there ) was a German actress and author .

Life

Käthe Kamossa was born as the daughter of the administrative secretary Paul Kamossa and his wife Margarete. After completing secondary school , she received training at the Reicherische drama school in Berlin. Afterwards she could be seen on stages in Berlin. In 1940, for example, there was an appearance in Franz Grillparzer's tragedy Medea at the Volksbühne Berlin .

From the 1930s Käthe Kamossa worked in various film productions . Among them was the 1941 National Socialist propaganda film I accuse , which today can only be shown as a reserved film under strict conditions. But she also played in the literary film adaptation of Heinrich von Kleist's Der zerbelte Krug by Gustav Ucicky with Emil Jannings , Friedrich Kayssler and Lina Carstens and in 1962 in the crime film The Secret of the Black Suitcase by Werner Klingler with Joachim Hansen , Senta Berger and Hans Reiser . Käthe Kamossa also occasionally worked as a radio play speaker.

In 1934 Käthe Kamossa, who was supported by the poet Gustav Stolze, published her first volume of poems Aufbruch . Other lyrical works followed. She also wrote two children's books.

Käthe Kamossa died on July 8, 1989 and was buried in the municipal cemetery in Berlin-Steglitz .
