The Körkün Çayı is a right tributary of the Seyhan in the southern Turkish provinces of Adana and Niğde .
The Körkün Çayı arises on the northern slope of the Taurus Mountains in the Çamardı district in the east of the Niğde province. It initially flows in an arc to the northwest and then to the southwest. It flows north past the village of Demirkazık . The river turns south and crosses the provincial border to Adana. It passes the villages of Aşçıbekirli and Kamışlı . The river then turns to the southeast and cuts through the Taurus Mountains. At the Karakuz Dam , part of the river water is channeled through an 11 km long tunnel and a subsequent pressure line to the associated hydroelectric power station located downstream (head 530 m; 2 vertical-axis 38 MW Pelton turbines ). The power plant is expected to reach full capacity in the second half of 2015. The remaining water flows through a gorge in the Taurus Mountains. After leaving the mountains, the Körkün Çayı flows south. Shortly before it flows into the western end of the Seyhan Reservoir , the Üçürge Deresi meets the Körkün Çayı on the right. The Çakıt Çayı runs west of the Körkün Çayı and also flows into the western end of the Seyhan reservoir.
