Çamardı is a city and capital of the district of the same name ( İlçe ) in the Central Anatolian province of Niğde . The city is located about 35 kilometers southeast of the provincial capital Niğde . The place is located on a tributary of the Ecemis Çayı and was raised to a municipality ( Belediye ) according to the city seal in 1926 .
The district is located in the east of the province and borders the central district ( Merkez ) in the northwest, Bor district in the west and Ulukışla district in the southwest. In the east the province of Kayseri forms a border, in the south the province of Adana .
In the east of the district are the Aladağlar with heights of over 3000 meters, in the west of the 2703 meter high Pozantı Dağı.
In addition to the district town, the district consists of 21 villages ( Köy ) with an average of 456 inhabitants. Burç (1,226), Bademdere (1,199) and Yelatan (976 inh .) Are the largest villages. With 11.3 inhabitants per km², the district has the lowest population density of all six districts in the province. The province's value is 50.4.
