Kōta Tanaka ( Japanese 田中 孝 太 , Tanaka Kōta ; born September 27, 1986 in Kushiro , Hokkaidō ) is a Japanese ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Tohoku Free Blades in the Asia League Ice Hockey since 2009 .

Career

Kōta Tanaka began his career as a hockey player in the team of Tōyō University . He then signed a contract with Tohoku Free Blades , which began playing in the Asia League Ice Hockey in the 2009/10 season . In this, the attacker scored five goals in 34 games in his rookie year in professional ice hockey and provided three assists. He also received six penalty minutes. In the 2010/11 season, which ended prematurely due to the Tōhoku earthquake , he and his team won the championship title of the Asia League Ice Hockey for the first time.

International

For Japan Tanaka took part in the U18 World Junior Championships in Division I in 2003 and 2004 .
