Klubi Sportiv Korabi Peshkopi (KS Korabi) is an Albanian football club from the city of Peshkopia . In the 2016/17 season the first team will play in the category e parë , the second highest Albanian league.

history

In 1930, a football club was founded in Peshkopi for the first time under the name Bashkimi Dibran Peshkopi . The team took part in a national competition for the only time in 1936 and played in Group B of the second division  against KS Shkumbini Peqin  and Devolli Bilisht . The club disbanded in 1944, whereupon the Shoqëria Sportive Korabi (Korab sports company) was founded, named after the Korab , the highest mountain in the country. In the 1962/63 season , the club rose for the first time in the highest Albanian league, but could not hold as bottom of the table and had to relegate again. As a result, KS Korabi always played second or third class.

In 2014/15 KS Korabi won group A in the third class category e dytë and was able to rise. In 2015/16, KS Korabi won Group A in the second-rate category e parë . Despite a defeat in the championship final against KS Luftëtari Gjirokastra (10:11 after extra time and penalty shoot-out with 24 attempts), the promotion succeeded. Since the stadium in Peshkopi did not meet the requirements of the highest league, KS Korabi had to play its home games for the 2016/17 season at the Selman Stërmasi Stadium in Tirana  . The Dibraners did not succeed in maintaining the league.
