history

Kastrioti Kruja was founded in 1926. After the association was briefly dissolved in 1949, it was re-established in the same year under the simple name of Krujë . Two years later, the name was changed to Puna Krujë , before the original name was reintroduced in 1958.

In the early 1990s - for the first time in the 1990/91 season - the club played in the first Albanian league . After relegation could no longer be avoided in 1993 , there were two years in the second division before the first class was played again for a year. Since 1997 it went down to the third division in the 2003/04 season. As a sovereign champion, the direct return to the second division succeeded, from which one rose thanks to the increase in the first division as third in the table in 2005/06 . After that, with the exception of the 2008/09 season , they played a few seasons again first class. The 2013/14 season ended in tenth place, which meant relegation to the second division. In 2018 he was promoted again as second in the second division , but rose again as a close second from bottom in the 2018/19 season .
