Kabel is the name of a font . It was originally designed in 1927 by the type designer Rudolf Koch and published by the Klingspor type foundry .

In terms of its type, the Kabel is a geometric grotesque font , such as Avenir , Futura or Avant Garde .

The Linotype edition of the Kabel font family includes four font weights : Light , Book , Heavy and Black . The variant published by ITC , which was modeled on the original Kabel in 1976 by type designer Victor Caruso , comprises five font weights: Book , Medium , Demi , Bold and Ultra .

The Neue Kabel font family was launched in 2016 . It is based on the cable and was designed by the designer Marc Schütz. It includes 18 styles (nine weights including italics) and over 1100 glyphs per style.
