Joseph Laniel was Prime Minister between 1953 and 1954

The Laniel I / II cabinet was formed in France on June 28, 1953 by Prime Minister Joseph Laniel during the tenure of President Vincent Auriol and replaced the Mayer cabinet . Laniel's government remained in office after René Coty became president on January 16, 1954 . On June 19, 1954, the Laniel II cabinet was replaced by the Mendès France cabinet . The cabinet included representatives from the Center national des indépendants et paysans (CNIP), Parti radical valoisien (PRS), Mouvement républicain populaire (MRP), Union démocratique et socialiste de la Résistance (UDSR), Action républicaine et sociale (ARS), Rassemblement du peuple français (RPF) and Union des républicains d'action sociale (URAS).
