Kai Bishop

Kai Bischof (born February 5, 1970 in Münster ) is a German biologist and professor of marine botany at the University of Bremen and at the Leibniz Center for Tropical Marine Ecology , Bremen.

biography

education

From 1991 to 1996, Bischof studied biology at the Ruhr University in Bochum and Osnabrück with a focus on botany , ecology and biophysics . From 1997 he did his doctorate at the Alfred Wegener Institute in Bremerhaven and then received a postdoc position there. In 2001 he switched to a postdoctoral position in Groningen . In 2003 he became assistant professor for biological oceanography at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and was head of the junior research group "Polar Algae" . Since 2006 he has been professor of marine botany at the University of Bremen .
