Alexander Gennadjewitsch Sasonow ( Russian Александр Геннадьевич Сазонов ; born November 29, 1980 in Omsk , Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who was last under contract with Rubin Tyumen in the Wysschaja Hockey League .
Career
Alexander Sasonow began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the HK Awangard Omsk , for whose professional team he made his debut in the super league in the 1999/2000 season . In his rookie year he remained pointless in twelve games and received eight penalty minutes. After he had spent the following season at Kristall Saratow in the Wysschaja Liga , the second Russian division, the defender ran in the 2001/02 season in parallel for HK Metschel Tscheljabinsk in the Superliga and Mostowik Kurgan from the Wysschaja Liga.
In the summer of 2002, Sasonov signed a contract with HK Traktor Chelyabinsk , for which he has played since then. With his team, the Russian rose in the 2005/06 season as a second division champion in the super league. Between the 2008 and 2011 he was on the ice for the HK tractor in the newly established Continental Hockey League . At the end of the 2010/11 season, his contract with the HK tractor ran out and Sasonow decided in May 2011 to move within the KHL to Neftechimik Nizhnekamsk . For the team, however, he only played 13 games in which he gave an assist before he was transferred to Vitjas Chekhov within the KHL in November 2011 .
In the 2012/13 season he was under contract with Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg .
