Kai Schrameyer (born January 10, 1968 in Bonn ) is a German wheelchair tennis player .

Career

Kai Schrameyer started wheelchair tennis at the age of 20 and has been in the paraplegic class ever since .

He took part in a total of three Paralympic Games . In 1992 he won the silver medal in singles after losing to Randy Snow in the final . In doubles he secured bronze with Stefan Bitterauf . In his second games in 2000 , he won another bronze medal in the individual competition. In 2004 , however, he did not win a medal. At the Wheelchair Tennis Masters , Kai Schrameyer won the title once in both singles and doubles. In 1997 he prevailed in the singles final against Stephen Welch in three sets, in 2002 he won alongside Welch against Martin Legner and Satoshi Saida in the final in three sets.

In the world rankings he reached the top position in singles on August 10, 1993. His best placement in doubles was second place, which he first took on October 19, 1999.

For his athletic achievements at the Paralympic Games in 1992, he received the Silver Laurel Leaf on June 23, 1993 .
