Kaiserturm (Wernigerode)
The Kaiserturm is a lookout tower at 477.8 m above sea level. NHN high Armeleuteberg , which rises south of the core town of Wernigerode in the Harz district of Saxony-Anhalt .
The tower was designed by the builder Paul Kilburger from the Princely Stolberg, financed by the Wernigerode hotelier Edmund Lührmann and built between May 29 and September 1, 1902 in honor of Kaiser Wilhelm II . The building blocks come mainly from the Königsberg quarry near Schierke . In 1992 the 12 m high tower was completely renovated and made accessible again.
The view from the tower extends to the northern Harz up to the Brocken , the Büchenberg and the Harburg . The view to Wernigerode with the Wernigerode Castle is particularly striking .
Since 2014 the Kaiserturm as Rapunzelturm has been the end point of the Wernigerode fairy tale trail , which runs from the Hasseröder holiday park to the poor people's park.
