Alice Betto (born December 10, 1987 in Cavaria con Premezzo , Varese province ) is an Italian triathlete , U23 national champion (2009) and three-time and elite national champion (2010, 2012, 2017).

Career

In 2009 Alice Betto became the U23 national triathlon champion.

State champion triathlon 2010

In the following year, 2010, she also won the title in the elite class.

On her international debut, the first European Cup triathlon in 2010 in Quarteira, Alice Betto won the bronze medal and thus made it to the top of the world: first was the Portuguese Vanessa Fernandes (silver medalist at the 2008 Olympic Games) and second was the junior Last year's world champion, Emmie Charayron from France .

In Italy, Alice Betto competed for the Novara Triathlon until 2010 . 2010 Betto also took part in the French club championship series Lyonnaise des Eaux and represented the TCG 79 Parthenay club. However, she only competed in the opening triathlon in Dunkirk (May 23, 2010) and finished 15th, making her the second best in her club. In September 2010 she was seventh at the U23 World Triathlon Championship.

In 2011 and 2012 Alice Betto competed in Italy for DDS Settimo Milanese . In June 2013 she finished third for Italy with the 4-man relay at the European Championships in Israel.

3rd place European Championship 2017

In June 2017 in Kitzbühel, Austria, she came third at the European Championships on the Olympic distance. After the last of the nine races in the 2017 ITU World Championship series, the then 29-year-old finished 16th as the best Italian in September.
In October she became national triathlon champion for the second time since 2010.

Personal

Alice Betto works as a policewoman, she studied restoration (restauro) at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan and lived there. She has been married to Alessandro Pezone since September 2016 and they both live in Rome today .
