The Armeleuteberg in the Harz is 477.8 m above sea level. NHN high mountain near Wernigerode in the Harz district in Saxony-Anhalt .
Geographical location
The Armeleuteberg rises in the Upper Harz in the Harz / Saxony-Anhalt Nature Park . Its summit is about 2 km south of the old town of Wernigerode . To the northeast, its forest landscape falls into the Twelve Morning Valley - with the nearby Harburg on the other side - to Wernigerode. To the south it falls into the Cold Valley and approximately to the northwest through the Nesseltal to Hasserode .
Kaiserturm and Waldgasthaus Armeleuteberg
The Kaiserturm observation tower has stood on the mountain top since 1902 , from which one can see, among other things, Wernigerode with Wernigerode Castle . The forest inn Armeleuteberg (approx. 445 m ) is located between the summit and the Försterplatz to the west-south-west of it (with the district forestry ), which is included as No. 35 in the system of stamping points of the Harzer Wanderadel .
The Wernigerode fairy tale trail leads from the Hasseröder holiday park to Armeleuteberg . The Wernigerode hiking trail for the blind leads past the Armeleuteberg as an approx. 1.1 km long circular trail.
