Kalanchoe angustifolia is a species of the genus Kalanchoe in the thick-leaf family(Crassulaceae). The specific epithet angustifolia is derived from the Latin words angustus for 'narrow' and -folius for 'leafy'.

Vegetative characteristics

Kalanchoe angustifolia grows persistently , is bare and reaches heights of growth of up to 25 centimeters. The roots are thickened. The slender, upright shoots are terete and become completely glaucous . The leaves are thick and fleshy, the leaf blade almost linear. Its tip is almost blunt.

Generative characteristics

The small, little-flowered inflorescence is zymose . The upright flowers stand on sturdy, approximately 10 millimeter long peduncles . Your calyx is almost non-existent. The lanceolate, pointed calyx tips are about 7 millimeters long. The corolla has a total length of about 14 millimeters. The corolla-tube is greatly expanded at its base and greatly narrowed towards the throat. Their very long, narrow, pointed corolla lobes are brownish in the middle and have yellow edges. The carpel has a length of about 10 millimeters, the stylus is about 2 millimeters long.

Systematics and distribution

Kalanchoe angustifolia is common in Ethiopia in the Tigray province .

The first description by Achille Richard was published in 1847. The species is only known from the type specimen.
