Vegetative characteristics

Kalanchoe cherukondensis is a perennial , completely reddish brown plant that reaches heights of up to 30 centimeters. The simple, bald, petal-round shoot is upright, stronger at its base and suddenly tapering towards the top. The sitting leaves are covered with tiny blood-red spots. The broad spatulate to obovate or elliptical leaf blade is 1.2 to 8 inches long and 0.4 to 6.5 inches wide. Its tip is blunt to pointed or round to edged and narrowed at its base. The scaly leaf margin is irregularly notched.

Generative characteristics

The inflorescence is a paniculate raceme . The upright flowers are on bare to dense glandular, 6 to 16 millimeter long pedicels . Their reddish brown, bald, non-glandular sepals are almost not fused together. Their lanceolate, pointed calyx tips are 7 to 13 millimeters long and 1.5 to 2.5 millimeters wide. The white petals are glandular and downy. The more or less cylindrical corolla tube is 3 to 9 millimeters long. Their lanceolate, pointed, more or less inconspicuous seven-veined corolla lobes have a length of 5 to 7 millimeters. The stamens are attached to the upper part of the corolla tube and protrude slightly from the flower. The egg-shaped anthers are about 1 millimeter long. The awkward nectar flakes have a length of 1.5 to 5 millimeters. The awl carpel has a length of about 5 millimeters. The stylus is about 5 millimeters long.

Kalanchoe cherukondensis is common in India in the state of Andhra Pradesh in rocky places at altitudes of 1100 meters.
