description

Vegetative characteristics

Kalanchoe migiurtinorum is a perennial , bare or drüsig- papillary , Glauce to achieve plant growth heights of about 60 centimeters. The upright shoots are terete. The very fleshy, tough, flat or somewhat sausage-shaped leaves are sessile. The oblong, lanceolate, obovate to broadly spatulate leaf blade is 3 to 10 centimeters long and 1 to 4.2 centimeters wide. Its tip is slightly pointed and the base is narrowed. The leaf margin is entire.

Generative characteristics

The inflorescence is a dense cyme and reaches a length of 10 to 15 centimeters. The upright flowers are on 5 to 10 millimeter long peduncles . Their calyx , which falls off early, is glabrous or papillary. The calyx tube is about 0.2 millimeters long. The lanceolate, pointed calyx lobes are 1.6 to 6 millimeters long and about 1 millimeter wide. The white to yellowish, occasionally pink, cylindrical corolla-tube is broadened at the base and 25 to 32 millimeters long. Their lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous or glandular-papillary corolla lobes are sometimes drawn with purple dots or lines. They are 6 to 8 millimeters long and 2.5 to 3 millimeters wide. The stamens are attached above the center of the corolla tube and do not protrude, or only the upper ones, from the flower. The linear nectar flakes are 4.5 to 5.5 millimeters long. The carpel is 16 to 18 mm and the stylus 5 to 7 millimeters long.

The seeds reach a length of about 0.5 millimeters.

Systematics and distribution

Kalanchoe migiurtinorum is common in the north of Somalia on gypsum or limestone hills at altitudes of 200 to 1850 meters.

The first description by Georg Cufodontis was published in 1965.
