Vegetative characteristics

Kalanchoe rotundifolia is a perennial , occasionally annual , completely bare, frosted plant that reaches heights of 20 to 200 centimeters. Their usually simple, stalk-round shoots are erect or basal prostrate. The leaves are petiolate to sessile. The almost cylindrical petiole is up to 1.2 centimeters long and easily detached from the shoot. The pale green or blue-green, elongated, lanceolate, elliptical, spatulate or triangular leaf blade is 1 to 8.5 inches long and 0.5 to 5.5 inches wide. Its tip is pointed to rounded, the base wedge-shaped. The leaf margin is entire, cupped, serrated, notched or more or less deeply three-lobed.

Generative characteristics

The little-flowered inflorescence are even or paniculate cymes 2 to 40 centimeters long. The upright flowers are on 2 to 8 millimeter long peduncles . Your calyx tube is 0.1 to 1 millimeter long. The lanceolate or triangular, pointed calyx lobes are 0.5 to 2 millimeters long and 1 millimeter wide. The deep red to orange corolla is yellowish to greenish in the lower part. The urn-shaped corolla tube, spherical in the lower part, is 6 to 10 millimeters long. Your lanceolate or elliptical, strongly pointed, spreading corolla lobes have a length of 2.5 to 5 millimeters and are 1 to 2.5 millimeters wide. The stamens are attached above the center of the corolla tube and do not protrude from the flower. The elongated anthers are 0.3 to 0.8 millimeters long. The linear nectar flakes are 1 to 3.5 millimeters long. The linear-lanceolate carpel has a length of 4 to 7 millimeters. The stylus is 0.3 to 1 millimeter long.

The obovate seeds reach a length of 0.6 to 1 millimeter.
