Karlheinz Gaffkus
Karl Heinz "Kalle" Gaffkus (* around 1933 in Berlin-Kreuzberg ) was a German dancer, actor and manager .
Life
Karlheinz Gaffkus initially completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith and blacksmith . Despite his considerable body he later worked as a professional dancer and performed, among other places, in the Bathtub, a well-known Berlin jazz bar. From 1953 to 1956 four times German rock 'n' roll champion , Gaffkus is also considered the only German rock 'n' roll world champion. In 1956 he got the role of Kudde in the film Die Halbstarken directed by Georg Tressler . During the filming, he met the leading actress Karin Baal , whom he married in 1960. From the marriage, which was divorced again in 1961, son Thomas emerged. Gaffkus, who also worked as a unit manager for a time, received other small roles in films such as Reversed Lives and Always When It Gets Night (both 1961). In 1972 he opened the “Bei Kalle” restaurant at the Berlin-Schlachtensee S-Bahn station , which soon developed into a popular meeting place for Berlin celebrities. At the end of 2000 he leased the restaurant and moved to Ruhpolding with his wife Astrid .
