Kalle Randalu (born November 25, 1956 in Tallinn , Estonian SSR ) is an Estonian pianist.

Life

After studying at the Estonian Music Academy in Tallinn with Bruno Lukk , Randalu went to Moscow , where he was trained by Lev Nikolajewitsch V Lassenko at the Moscow Conservatory . In 1988 he settled in Germany after having successfully competed in various international piano competitions in previous years. Today (2016) he is professor for piano at the Karlsruhe University of Music .

The pianist works internationally and has recorded various works of chamber music, e. B. by Gabriel Fauré , Carl Reinecke , Charles Koechlin , Zdeněk Fibich , Béla Bartók , André Caplet , Gideon Klein , Erwin Schulhoff , Johannes Brahms , Paul Hindemith and Pēteris Vasks . He played Brahms' piano quintets with the Mandelring Quartet . The Second Piano Concerto by Raimo Kangro and the Piano Concerto by Lepo Sumera were also recorded with him.

The jazz musician Kristjan Randalu is his son, the violist Liisa Randalu, a member of the Schumann Quartet , is his daughter.
