Catholic parish church hl. Martin, cemetery and footbridge over the former moat ObjectID : 59060 |
KG location : Meggenhofen |
The current church is a late Gothic building from the 14th or 15th century. At the beginning of the 19th century the cross ribs and Gothic altars were removed. The attached church tower used to have a pear dome , which was removed in 1868 and replaced by a pointed tower roof.
According to the parish chronicle, a new footbridge was built over the deep moat, the former Innbachtalstrasse, as early as 1852 instead of the old rotten footbridge across the street (between the Kadingerhaus and the cemetery wall). Later the walkway was made of concrete. The footbridge was demolished in 2007 as part of the complete redesign of the center of Meggenhofen with the Kadingerhof. |
