The Kals-Matreier-Törl-Haus is a private refuge in the Granatspitz group of the Hohe Tauern in East Tyrol .
Location and surroundings
The hut is located at 2207 m above sea level. A. am Kals-Matreier-Törl between Matrei in the west and Kals in the east. The transition is located on the ridge between Kendlspitze and Rotenkogel and offers an excellent view of the Großglockner and the Schober group . In the west the view extends into the Virgen Valley and the peaks of the Venediger group .
Despite its location in the Großglockner Resort Kals-Matrei ski area , the hut is closed in the winter months.
Tour possibilities
The Kals-Matreier-Törl-Haus is the only base in the southern Granatspitz group and is therefore frequently visited. With two cable cars, which are also operated in summer, the hut is primarily popular with day-trippers .
