Kamani Helekunihi Hill (born December 28, 1985 in Berkeley ) is an American football player who also has a passport of the island state of Trinidad and Tobago .

Career

The attacker was born in Berkeley, California, the son of a Trinidadian and an American of Hawaiian descent. Hill played in his youth with his hometown club Marin United and on the Berkeley High School soccer team, which he attended.

In 2004 the American went to the University of California in the Pacific-10 Conference . Benny Feilhaber comes from the UCLA Bruins soccer team . By 2006 he played 40 games there, in which he scored nine goals. During his college years, Hill made a few games for the Orange County Blue Star and the San Fernando Valley Quakes in the USL Premier Development League , the fourth-highest division in the United States. As a pure amateur league, it is particularly popular with students and older schoolchildren, as they can play in a football club there during the holidays.

Through his performance in the Pacific-10 Conference, VfL Wolfsburg became aware of the striker and invited him to a trial training session in October 2006. After Hill was able to convince Wolfsburg coach Klaus Augenthaler , he signed a contract until 2009. Kamani Hill has been eligible to play for VfL Wolfsburg since January 1, 2007. Hill made his Bundesliga debut on January 27, 2007 against Hertha BSC when he came on in the 68th minute.

On June 2, 2007 Hill came to his first use in the US national team . In the 4-1 win in the friendly against China in San José, he was substituted on in the 74th minute.

Since November 21, 2007, he has not been part of the squad after he was sorted out by Felix Magath .

In April 2009 Hill completed a ten-day trial training Portuguese first division club Vitória Guimarães . On May 8th he signed a three-year contract there. In January 2010 he was loaned out to the second division team Desportivo Aves for six months .

In March 2012, he moved to the US first division club Colorado Rapids without having completed a competitive game for Vitória Guimarães. There he came in the 2012 season mostly as a substitute for 19 appearances and scored five goals. He has been without a club since the end of November 2014.
