Kamenica ( Cyrillic : Каменица) is a village in eastern Serbia . Since there are several places with the name Kamenica in the countries of the former Yugoslavia , the village is also called Aleksinačka Kamenica .
Geography and population
The village is located in the Opština Aleksinac in Nišavski okrug in the east of the country at 513 meters above sea level. Kamenica had 70 inhabitants at the 2011 census, compared to 103 in 2002. According to the last three population statistics, the number of inhabitants continues to fall.
99% of the population of Kamenica are Serbian Orthodox Serbs . One person stated an unknown ancestry that corresponds to 1% of the population. The place consists of 36 households. The village is located southwest of the municipality capital Aleksinac .
The place is surrounded by forests and mountains and is not far from the neighboring villages Jakovlje , Loznac and Kulina .
