Kamienica is a village and seat of the rural municipality of the same name in the powiat Limanowski of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland .

geography

The place lies in the wooded landscape of the Beskid Island (Polish Beskid Wyspowy). The altitude of the village is between 450 and 670 meters. The Kamienica Gorczańska stream flows through the village . The border with Slovakia is about 25 kilometers away.

history

In 1931 the village's wooden church burned down. A new parish church was built from 1932 to 1937, but it is made of stone and no longer of wood. From 1975-1998 the village and region belonged to the Nowy Sącz Voivodeship .
