Kammer is a parish village with approx. 1500 inhabitants in the Upper Bavarian district of Traunstein and the seat of a Catholic parish. Kammer is part of the city of Traunstein .

history

In 788, Kammer and its surroundings are mentioned for the first time in the Salzburg document Notitia Arnonis . There are 80 taxable novels on the Traun. One can assume Romanesque population for the places Litzlwalchen, Traunwalchen, Walchenberg, Roitwalchen, Kammer, Oberwalchen and Katzwalchen. Chamber was in the Middle Ages an office of the District Court of Traunstein and included the chairman machinations Mountain, Traunwalchen , Pierling , Rettenbach, Thunstetten, chamber and Weisskirchen.

In 1805 Kammer was raised to a separate royal parish. In 1818, the municipal edict transformed the former main team into a political municipality. This had 613 inhabitants in 1933 (with the place Rettenbach). On July 1, 1972, Kammer was incorporated into the city of Traunstein as part of the municipal reform. In 2015, the district of Kammer had 1,465 inhabitants and an area of ​​15.64 km². It includes the places Alterfing , Gerating , Haunstätt , Kaltenbach , Kammer, Kronacker , Langmoos , Leiderting , Lüfteneck , Marberloh , Neuhausen , Reichsberg , Rettenbach , Roitwalchen and Siegelberg .
