Kamperfehn is a district of the city of Friesoythe with 500 inhabitants.
Geographical location
Kamperfehn is located on the Elisabethfehn Canal , one of the few Fehn canals still navigable, and on both sides of the K 145 , which leads east to the B 401 . The Elisabethfehn Canal flows into the coastal canal on which the C-Port is currently being built.
Kamperfehn has the postcode 26169 and the area code 04497.
history
The place is a former Fehnsiedlung , accordingly the original typical arrangement of the houses along the two canals that were created at that time is still clearly recognizable today. The Old Friesoyther Canal has not existed for almost 50 years, because with the end of peat cutting in Kamperfehn and the surrounding moor, its original function as a transport route for the peat excavated in the moor became superfluous.
Up until the 1960s there was a primary school in Kamperfehn, which is now closed due to a lack of students.
tourism
Today Kamperfehn offers a variety of leisure activities for tourists. There are berths for sport boats and fishing opportunities on the Elisabethfehn Canal, and holiday apartments and houses are available.
societies
In addition to the local club Kamperfehn there is the boat club Kamperfehn, the shooting club Reekenfeld / Kamperfehn eV and the SC Kampe / Kamperfehn eV , which was created in 2008 through the merger of the sports clubs SC Kamperfehn and SV Kampe.
