Kandy Nehova

Nehova "Kandy" Shafodino Hinananye (born September 26, 1964 in Ongwediva , South West Africa ) is a Namibian politician . From February 23, 1993 to December 16, 2004, he was President of the National Council , the upper house of the Namibian Parliament .

Career

Nehova is a trained teacher and holds degrees in political and social sciences , journalism and military science .

From 1967 to 2007 Nehova was a senior member of the ruling SWAPO party . He fought in the Namibian liberation struggle between 1974 and 1980 for the People's Liberation Army of Namibia (PLAN), the military arm of SWAPO.

Nehova was a member of the National Council from 1993 to 2004, as the representative of Ongwediva . From 2010 to 2015 he was a member of the National Assembly , the lower house. He is a member of the opposition Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP),
