action

Oranienburg station, where Finn has to leave the train in the book.

Finn lives with his father in Neustrelitz , his mother lives with her new boyfriend in Berlin . Shortly before his tenth birthday, Finn has to take the train to his mother's home alone for the first time because his father is unable to work. On the train he meets a dodgy-looking young man who joins him in the compartment. The man gets off the train a little later and Finn notices shortly after that he has stolen his backpack, including his wallet, cell phone and ticket. The conductor who checked Finn shortly afterwards threw him off the train despite protests from the other passengers at Oranienburg station and handed him over to the police. When the officers want to drive Finn to the station, they are involved in an accident. At a red light, the patrol car is hit by a delivery van.

Ten-year-old Jola, the passenger in the delivery truck, is able to convince Finn in the mess of the accident that it would be best if the two of them make their way to Berlin on their own. On their escape from the police, they manage to start an old Belarus tractor. With this they drive off until night falls and they go to a high seat to spend the night. When they continue their journey the next day, they run out of fuel. Although they manage to organize new diesel, the tractor has since been confiscated by the police. Finn and Jola continue to hitchhike.

Your driver wants to take the children to the next train station. On the way, however, Finn accidentally discovers a carpentry shop that has the same name that the thief on the train wore as a print on his T-shirt. Finn and Jola find out the name of the young man and discover him surrounded by a motorcycle gang in a pub. With a trick they manage to get Finn's backpack back. Since they accidentally take the club president's robe with them, they are now being followed by the motorcyclists. Finally, Finn and Jola manage to resolve the situation. They are brought to Berlin as reparation by the motorcycle gang, who firmly condemn the thief's actions, where they are received by their parents who are already waiting.

Reviews

Kannawoniwasein! Sometimes you just have to leave it was received positively by critics and reviewers. The Reading Foundation draws parallels to Erich Kästner's Emil and the Detectives and Wolfgang Herrndorfs Tschick and judges the book to be a “wonderfully crazy friendship travel adventure” that “skilfully juggles with literary models”. Christian Staas attests to Muser at the time "an unerring instinct for how children see the world". On the one hand, the book has “moments of gorgeous comedy”, but still has enough depth. Staas says praising the "casual casual style" of the novel, which history "welthaltiger than many heavy-weight [n] problem novel for young readers will be." The cultural radio took Kannawoniwasein to its recommendation list "books for the summer 2018" and upgraded it as a “picture-rich summer road trip from Oranienburg to Berlin - as brash as its title”.

The Borromausverein honors in the review of the audio book both the history Musers, and the reading Kaminski. Kannawoniwasein is "a wonderful friendship story " with "great characters". Muser is certified as having an unmistakable “feel for situation comedy”, the speaker Stefan Kaminski is described as a “vocal wonder”. The association draws the conclusion: “Real hearing happiness for everyone. Of course also because of the brilliant template by Martin Muser ”. The Bücherkarussell, an association for reading promotion and literary advice, also rates the story as "grandiose, funny and profound" and Kaminski's speaking performance as "simply great" and judges that being Kannawoni was "[e] simply great, simply recommendable" .
