The canton of Basse-Terre is a French constituency in the arrondissement of Basse-Terre in the department and region of Guadeloupe .
The canton was newly created as part of the reorganization of the French cantons in 2015 and includes the municipality of Saint-Claude in addition to the municipality of Basse-Terre (previously canton Basse-Terre-1 and canton Basse-Terre-2 ) .
