The canton of Mojinete is a municipality in the Potosí department in the South American Andean state of Bolivia .
Location in the vicinity
The Cantón Mojinete is one of five cantons in the district ( Bolivian : Municipio ) Mojinete in the province of Sur Lípez . It borders in the northeast and north on the province of Nor Chichas , in the west on the canton La Cienega , in the southwest on the municipality San Antonio de Esmoruco , in the south on the canton Casa Grande and in the east on the Republic of Argentina .
The canton extends between about 21 ° 45 'and 21 ° 51' south latitude and 66 ° 13 'and 66 ° 22' west longitude, it measures from north to south up to 10 kilometers, from west to east up to 15 kilometers. There are five municipalities in the canton, the central place is Mojinete in the northeastern part of the canton with 271 inhabitants. The canton lies at an average altitude of 4000 m .

The canton is located in the Cordillera de Lípez on the southern edge of the Bolivian Altiplano , the region's climate is semi-arid and has a typical time-of-day climate, in which the mean temperature fluctuation during the day is more pronounced than during the course of the seasons.
